Can I pour more Flint Stone Foam on top of a previous pour of Flint Stone Foam?Yes, you can. Unlike concrete, Flint Stone Foam will bond to itself. Wait until the composite from the first pour has finished rising before pouring the second pour on top.
-
Can I use Flint Stone Foam if it is raining during install?Yes, you can. Unlike our competitors, Flint Stone Foam is truly hydro-insensitive. So it will not react adversly to water and will be just a strong as if poured with a dry hole.
-
Will Flint Stone Foam help prevent rot for wood or rust on metal?Since Flint Stone Foam is a closed cell material, water or air (oxygen) does not move through it. Without air or water next to the post below ground line, there is no rot or rust. Therefore wood, metal and vinyl posts will last years and years longer than if they had been set in concrete.
-
What is the Shelf Life of Flint Stone Foam?Normal shelf life is 12 months (unopened). Shelf life is affected by storage temperature. The hotter the shed or warehouse, (110 degrees F or hotter) the greater the possibility the resin will separate in the "B" component, thus shortening the shelf life. Cooler storage areas will ensure proper shelf life. Once opened the "A" component will have less than one week shelf life due to being exposed to oxygen.
-
Is Flint Stone Foam environmentally safe?Yes, once both components are mixed and cured the composite becomes a solid inert mass, incapable of leaching any chemicals into the soil or water table. Treated wood posts do contain hazardous chemicals that can leach into the ground. Flint Stone Foam seals around the wood post, helping to prevent these chemicals from leaching out.
